Example of a tapestry before and after a cleaning treatment

The detail is that of a tapestry that hangs in the Castle of Hlubokà nad Vlavov, in the Czech Republic.
The tapestry was very heavily soiled, particularly in the areas of weave that are light in colour and where the weaving is often denser.

The cleaning of the tapestry on the automated installation enabled the removal of the majority of the soiling and improved the physical appearance of the light coloured areas of weave ; the appearance of the finer details, such as the faces of figures, was also greatly improved.
