The conservation of tapestries, the work of specialists

This film retraces the conservation work on the seven tapestries of the hanging The Battle of Pavia that now hang in the Museum of Capodimonte (Gallerie nazionali di Capodimonte) in Naples.

These tapestries were treated in our studios in Courbevoie some ten years ago and, if the methods and equipment have considerably changed (see the section on the cleaning of tapestries), the techniques used for studying and for the conservation of the object remain essentially the same.
